Staff & Lay Elders

  • Joe Young

    Joe is the pastor-teacher of Emmanuel Bible Church. After completing his pastoral training at The Master’s Seminary in 2007, he was called to Emmanuel later that same year. Joe was born in Kalispell, Montana but grew up in Idaho as one of seven children of a pastor/missionary. Before going to seminary Joe was serving as a Youth Pastor in Lincoln, Montana where he also was a wildland firefighter and highschool basketball coach. Joe and his wife Julie have two sons (Thomas and John) and three daughters (Annalie, Olivia, and Felicity).

  • Tanner Ripley

    Tanner (Associate Pastor) was born and raised on a ranch in the nearby Highwood Mountains. While attending Montana State University and playing Football for the Bobcats, Tanner got involved in a Bible study and then a church that the Lord used to radically alter his life direction. In 2011, he began an internship at Grace Bible Church in Bozeman that led to an associate pastoral ministry there until January of 2016 at which time he came on staff at Emmanuel. He is a graduate of the The Master's Seminary and is ACBC certified. Tanner and his wife Brooke were married in 2013 and have four children, Harmony, and Meg, Timothy, and Isabelle. When he's not pastoring, Tanner enjoys reading old western novels with his wife, or anything outdoors...including hunting, fishing, and camping.

  • Scott Eakman

    Scott (Associate Pastor) was born and raised in Great Falls.  After attending The Master’s Seminary in California, he met and married Carey, a Californian, and together they made Sacramento a home until the Lord opened the door for them to move to Asia as missionaries in 2009.  While in Asia, the Lord grew their family and blessed them with 4 daughters and 1 son.  In 2022, the Lord brought them back to the states from serving in Taiwan.

  • Mike Plummer

    Mike became a lay elder in 2017 and having served in the body at Emmanuel for years. He has served by teaching a number of equipping hour classes including portions of Genesis, and Old Testament Survey and a number of other books. He also preaches periodically Sunday morning through the book of Romans. He and his wife Peggy have two grown children and six grandchildren. Mike enjoys skiing, fishing, hunting, biking, camping, hiking and golfing.
